Birmingham

Took a quick weekend trip to Birmingham, AL with my Momma to visit some old friends. It's was wonderful to spend some quality time with my mommy and to enjoy a weekend of girly things. We arrived late Friday night and picked up a Full Moon BBQ pulled pork sandwich. Definitely the best "drive through" bbq I've ever had.

Saturday morning, we got up and had a light breakfast. I went and tried on bridesmaid dresses at the local Alfred Angelo. It was a quick, easy, and surprising pleasant experience :)

We headed to the "So Ho" area of Homewood. It was the perfect place to spend a Saturday morning with the girls. We walked and shopped and walked and shopped. Couldn't afford to buy a single thing but it was so much fun! My favorite shops were Pink Tulip, White Flowers, and the furniture stores.

We stopped at Do Di Yo's greek restaurant for lunch. Yummy! Reasonably priced! Most interesting bathrooms ever...

We walked and shopped some more. My friend had to leave us to go to work, she stopped for an early dinner at Zoe's Kitchen. We just had drinks but it definitely looks like a place I'd want to go back to. Simple, fresh, fast, healthy food at a reasonable price is always good in my book.

Then we went to the Brookwood Village mall and shopped some more. Just a typical mall, nothing to write home about.

Finally, we drove to The Summit...which I would much recommend over Brookwood but it was rainy and we didn't want to be outside. We shopped at Charming Charlie (LOVE) while we waited for a table at Chuy's. It was good, pretty basic Mexican.

Sunday morning we meandered home. We were planning to go slow, the boys were golfing so we didn't have to hurry home. When it was lunch time, I preferred we eat somewhere local. We trusted my mom's new iphone (Siri) to get us to a good place. Well, my mom and Siri don't have such a good relationship and the "bitch in a box" (my mom calls it) took us WAYYY out of the way, through scary parts of Alabama all the way to NOTHING. Frustrating! But we laughed it off and thanked the good Lord Daddy and Hubby weren't with us to be hangry.

Sometimes a quick weekend with the girls is just the refresher you need!
